About Wendy

Hello, I’m Wendy, a Bromley-based yoga teacher offering group classes, 1-2-1 tuition & Yoga in the Workplace within the Bromley area & online.

Yoga classes in London, Bromley, Biggin Hill and South East area

After practising yoga for 20yrs & teaching for 10, I have a wealth knowledge, experience, and passion that I love to share. I believe that everyone can benefit from Yoga in their lives.

I teach traditional Ashtanga vinyasa assisted self-practice & led classes; as well as Slow mindful flows and more dynamic Energising flows.

My classes are designed for all levels, from beginners to the more advanced practitioner. They are creative & well -structured, incorporating a blend of traditional yoga asana, but also influenced by modern functional movement systems, designed to open the body, improve balance, coordination & mobility. Always with a strong emphasis on awareness of breath and linking movement with breath within a mindful flow. It is this awareness & synchronicity of movement with breath that keeps us present, creating a better mind/ body connection & can elevate our practice to become a moving meditation.

Although sometimes challenging, including elements promoting strength and active flexibility, I adopt a compassionate & light-hearted approach, always aiming to create a safe and nurturing space for you to move & breathe, supporting you wherever you are in your practice;  there are no expectations or pressure from me for you to achieve a goal or the peak posture, only gentle encouragement & a wish for you to enjoy the journey towards it, hopefully leaving the class smiling & feeling good!

Whether you join me for Ashtanga Self-practice or one of my flow classes you will find my teaching style is playful and non-dogmatic, offering a warm and friendly atmosphere for you to be curious and explore yoga whatever your level of experience.

My Story

So, originally from ‘Up North”, I moved down South over 20 years ago and now live in Bromley where I teach yoga full time.

Unlike many yoga teachers, I do not come from a dance or gymnastic background, my ‘proper job’ was a Dispensing Optician.

I discovered yoga in my 30s for purely physical reasons. This was after a Pilates teacher recommended, I join a class as she felt my hamstrings would benefit -which they have- and I have never looked back.

I felt an immediate connection with yoga, loving the way it made me feel and the space it created in my body and my mind. Yoga quickly became an integral part of my life, I began a daily ashtanga practice, that I still maintain, and which then led to a strong desire for me to share the ‘yoga love’ with others.

Fast forward 20years and I have been teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa and Hatha flow yoga for over a decade. Now a Senior teacher with Yoga Alliance after completing a variety of formal trainings including Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (200hrs) with world renowned teachers John Scott & Lucy Crawford & British Wheel of Yoga L4Q (500hrs). I have also been extremely fortunate to have studied with and been mentored by many amazing teachers along the way for which I am forever grateful.
