How to set up Zoom:
- Download the Zoom software or app either via www.zoom.us or the app store in advance of the class.
- Zoom can be accessed via computers, laptops, tablets and android phones. You might need to change your privacy settings to download onto a laptop.
- Prior to the class, I will send you an email containing an ID and password and an Invite link. Depending on how you access Zoom you may be asked to put these codes into the space provided, or sometimes clicking on the link I provide may take you straight to the class. Both are easy to do.
- Up to 15 mins before the class is due to begin double-click on the invite ‘join meeting’ link in the email.
- You will be asked to join meeting
- On my laptop a blue box appears asking you to use computer audio also ensure your video is on.
- I will be waiting to meet and greet you.
- Again, on my laptop (phones/ tablet may have different displays) you can move from ‘gallery view’ showing us all to ‘speaker view’ showing whoever is speaking.
- When on speaker view, I will be large on the screen and you will have a small box with a picture of yourself. This box can be moved by clicking and dragging it anywhere on the screen. You also have the option to have a few participants on the screen or if you click (-) you can remove so just you and myself.
- Gallery view will give you everyone in the class and is often a good way to connect to others at the beginning and end of the class.
- Move to speaker view when I begin the class so you can see me clearly and keep your video on so I can see you.
- I will mute everyone so you can hear me clearly throughout the class, then unmute when we come together at the end.
During the class:
- I will provide modifications throughout the class. If you have any new sensitivities or health conditions I should know about please email me in advance of the class. If you are new to the class I will send you a Health questionnaire to complete.
- As in a usual class work to your measure, modify, pause at any time you need to.
- It is good to have props to hand – a block (or large books can work), a yoga belt (or a dressing gown cord, or old tie or belt), padding such as a blanket (or large towel). Have these ready for every class.
- If you have another mobile in the room please put this on aeroplane mode so you don’t get interrupted.
- It is also good to turn off other apps that might send you a message as this may affect your sound.
- If the screen freezes due to wi-fi signal, please repeat the last thing that we did. And join in again once you are able to and it feels right to do so.
- Please log in up to 15 mins prior to the start of the session so you have time to set up, check sound is on, you are comfortable before we begin. And this is a great time to chat to the rest of the class.
- Also ensure you have a safe space to practise, free of sharp furniture etc and low overhead light fittings – we have all seen “You’ve been framed”!
- If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me (mob. 07801898779)
